These terms apply to purchases from Honey & Hive, run by Alan and Melissa in Windsor–Essex County, Ontario. All prices are in Canadian dollars. Please read the season, fulfilment details and total shown at checkout before paying.

One product, four annual tiers

Become Part of the Hive is a hands-off beekeeping experience for the annual season stated on your order. It is a one-time annual purchase, with no automatic renewal. Tier prices are shown before payment.

Your reserved honey

Seed includes a guaranteed minimum of 6 × 1kg or 12 × 500g jars; Sprout, 12 × 1kg or 24 × 500g; Bloom, 18 × 1kg or 36 × 500g. Choose one jar format when ordering. Hive Owner receives one whole hive’s entire harvest, whose yield varies naturally; no fixed jar count applies. Every tier has limited availability.

One harvest, in late summer

We harvest once a year. Tier allocations are reserved before retail honey goes on public sale, and jars are prepared following the late-summer harvest, heading into fall. Weather and bee health can affect timing. We will communicate changes. Collection or delivery methods, availability and charges are displayed at checkout; an order is not permission to visit an apiary.

Hive care and replacement

Honey & Hive manages the bees, equipment and care. If a hive is lost, we replace it and supply that season’s honey from a sister hive. Seed, Sprout and Bloom minimum allocations remain guaranteed. For Hive Owner, the full harvest of a designated sister hive supplies the replacement allocation. The Hive Owner tier reserves the whole-hive seasonal harvest. Alan and Melissa continue to manage hive care; apiary access is not included.

What your tier includes

All tiers include a name on a hive tag and seasonal updates. Sprout adds a certificate. Bloom adds first pick of limited batches, subject to availability. Hive Owner includes all of these benefits and an extraction-day video. Limited batches are not a promise of additional quantities beyond the stated allocation. No custom jar labels are offered. No apiary visits are offered for biosecurity reasons.

Gifts and hive names

A tier can be gifted. Please provide an appropriate hive name and accurate recipient details. We may ask for a replacement name if a submitted name is inappropriate or duplicates an existing tag. The buyer receives the order and account record; gift recipient account access is arranged separately. Gifts include the selected tier’s benefits and follow the same season and fulfilment terms.

Retail honey

Retail jars on Local Honey are separate products and do not include a hive tier. Retail pricing is $12 per 500g jar and $20 per 1kg jar unless a clearly stated price change is published before your purchase. Availability is limited to stock offered for sale.

Payments, changes and problems

Your order summary shows applicable taxes, fulfilment charges and the total before payment. To request a cancellation, correction or refund, contact us promptly with your order number. We review requests according to fulfilment status and applicable consumer rights. If we cannot provide a promised allocation or agreed replacement, we will contact you to arrange a remedy, including a refund for what we cannot supply. These terms do not limit rights available under applicable law.
